PORTFOLIO
[ Draft - a starting point for Noa to edit or replace ]
I paint the quiet hours - the rooms we return to, the light that waits by the window, the ones who share our rest. My figures live between waking and sleep, held by sheets, curtains, and the small warm weight of a cat.
I work digitally, but I think like a painter: slow layers, softened edges, light built the way memory builds it. These works are about intimacy without spectacle - the tenderness of an unguarded back, a sleeping face, a harbor at night seen from your own bed.
Two of these paintings look outward, toward the Greek harbors I keep returning to - the same quiet, only larger. Home is not the subject. The feeling of home is.
White Noon
Light falls the way it does only once a day.
She is not sleeping, exactly - just elsewhere.
The cat, as always, is entirely here.
Sheer
The hour before the day asks anything of you.
Warm light, a window,
and no reason yet to turn around.
Veil
Between her and the world, one thin layer of gauze.
It hides nothing, really.
It only softens who is looking.
Warm Sleep
Two people, one temperature.
Whatever the day held,
it has been set down.
Small Guardian
He keeps watch the way small creatures do -
seriously, and mostly for show.
The room sleeps on.
Night Companion
In the dark room, two pairs of eyes -
only one of them open.
Night is easier with company.
Aegean Night
Somewhere out there, boats are tied up for the night,
and the harbor keeps its small lights on.
From here, all of it is hers.
After the Rain
The rain left without saying goodbye.
What it left behind:
a harbor, rinsed clean, showing off.
